However, I believe the prices are high. They also make loose powder foundation. If they had something especially unique, I would feel comfortable purchasing from them (for what it's worth).

Alima Pure Empty Good experience!

Post by lunamond Sat Oct 19, 2013 10:06 pm

I've ordered twice from Alima Pure and have only positive things to say. I first tried their foundation sample kit by using their foundation finder, and I'd also contacted their customer service to help narrow down the shades that might work for me. I basically ordered the kit that had the most overlap between the two results, and I also ordered 3 additional foundation sample shades. I was lucky enough to have found a good match (actually, two good matches -- one for summer and one for winter, as I do get a shade darker in summer): Neutral 2 and Neutral 3.

It is pricier than other indie mineral foundations for sure, but the packaging and customer service are really top-notch. I've also tried Meow's foundation and found it to be quite lovely as well. I haven't tried their eyeshadows, but did receive a sample size blush in the kit which was really nice. The travel kabuki brush, while small, worked very well (in fact, better than the EcoTools brush which had been my previous love).

Whether or not the extra price over Meow (for example) is worth it to you isn't something I can answer. But for me, the ease of navigating Alima's website and the assistance in finding the right shade both made it worth the extra expense. And the packaging is lovely!

I used to use Alima's foundation exclusively, until I switched to Meow. They are a little pricier, but I still love their eyeshadows. Chai is my favorite and my go to every day color.

Great company with great customer service. I also love how they have little sets. I've bought several of those. I have no complaints about this company, but it can be a little pricier than other indie companies.

Alima Pure Empty Fine but pricey

Post by Foxes Sat Dec 12, 2015 1:52 pm

I've ordered off and on from Alima for many years now and think that they are overall one of the better mineral makeup companies, but they don't really offer anything particularly unique in today's indie landscape. Usually I've just stuck with samples because of the higher price point (which has gone up quite a bit over the years...$24 for blush!). For foundation they have a wonderful color range, but on my oily skin it tends to transfer and get shiny faster than if I was wearing nothing. It seems they also no longer offer blush or eyeshadow samples and the color range for those products has gotten smaller. Not the company for me anymore.
