Performance Colors (Etsy) Empty Re: Performance Colors (Etsy)

I really like Performance Colors. Here are some mini reviews on the products I've tried:

Concealer sampler: $2 for three little clam shells of three different shades of concealer. The perfect way to find a match without having to buy a full size - not that full sizes are super pricey either ($5). I ordered snowy, cream, and fair. While fair matches most of my face best, cream is exactly what I needed to lighten up my under eye dark spots and brighten the inner corners of my eye. The samples are pretty generous too. I've been using cream for about a month and it's only about half empty.

Eyeliner pencil (free sample with order): I received the brown pencil and it goes on nice and smooth. I think I'll be ordering the purple one in the near future since the one I got from The Body Shop doesn't want to go onto my oily lids.

Shadow Magnet primer: I've noticed some creasing after a few hours with this primer, but my lids do get pretty oily, so it would probably be great for someone with less oily eyelids, and for $5, I'm not heartbroken that it wasn't perfect.

Cream Eyeshadow: I have Farrah ("illegal, tweaked, jealous, glowing blued lavender with hints of rose") and Sweet Dreams ("grayed violet taupe"). I think Sweet Dreams is more wearable as a lid wash than Farrah because the sparkle flecks in Farrah are a bit big for my taste, but my favorite way to wear these is as a base color for more loose eyeshadow. Tiffany also sent 3 other cream eyeshadow samples with my order, including Oilslick - which is a nifty duochrome and probably something I'll get a full size of with my next order.

Lipstick Samples: I received 3 with my order and then three more when she sent the concealer, which she'd accidentally not included with the first package. I haven't played with them much because I didn't have a lip brush until more recently, but I think both formulas are nice and have been considering her 3 for $10 offer.

Customer service: My package was shipped (arrived at the post office) less than 24 hours after I'd ordered and delivered three days later. When I discovered that the concealer samples were missing, I contacted her through etsy and she apologized for the mistake and sent them out right away with bonus extra lip samples.

Performance Colors (Etsy) Empty LOVE THIS COMPANY

Post by findacity Fri Feb 21, 2014 8:19 am

I love their cream foundation and recommend it all the time - it's got really full coverage but it's easy to apply without looking cakey.

their undereye concealer works quite well for creasing (although be aware that shades seem to run on the dark side, so maybe get one or two shades lighter than you think.)

I have several of their cream eyeshadows and while i'm not an expert on using cream shadows, these seems quite nice and blendable, and i like the colors. My only complaint is that i got a couple of colors that i thought would be good office neutrals and they've got quite a bit of chunky sparkle. oh well, it does say in the descriptions that they're sparkly.

The eyeliner i have is very nice and smooth, although it goes on lighter than i was expecting. no problem, i just set it with darker powder.

BUT THE LIPSTICK. so great. it's a bit drying but i've never met a lipstick that wasn't, and there's a wide and wonderful range of colors. My favorites are Vino - deep but wearable berry red - and Rumor - MLBB in sort of a browny pink.

Highly recommend!

I got a pressed trio with Golden Door, Rhapsody, and Blackberry and HOLY COW these are pigmented. They're pressed well and they didn't die in shipping (I've had a few with other companies that have) and when swatching, they're pretty much true to pan without having to use a primer. I ordered it on May 9, and by May 14 it was sitting at my door. I'm planning on ordering a bunch more of the pressed shadows in the future, but I need to stick to my low buy.

I have tried lipstick, foundation, and an eyeliner from Performance Colors and all of them have been great, so far! The foundation wears very lightly and covers well. I was able to wear it in the winter with overly dry skin, which is always amazing! It does have a scent to it, vanilla melon I believe, which can be requested to be left out in the full size jars! The lipsticks are creamy and wear like a dream! The eyeliner pencil has a bit of sparkle to it, but it is not really noticeable when it's on my eyes. It's very soft and easy to apply, would be great for a smokier look!

I haven't had a chance to try my products yet but just had to RAVE about PC's customer service! I was recommended to try them because I'm looking for an indie foundation, and was so excited to find that she offers foundation "sample packs" in which you can pick a few different colors to try out (she offers the same with concealer, which of COURSE I had to pick up!) I ordered on the 29th, and was excited to find my order in my mailbox today (the 2nd)--talk about fast turnaround time! Inside I was even more excited, because she had tossed in another concealer (based on the colors I'd picked) as well as a free sample of a lip color (even though I didn't make the minimum purchase her Etsy promises free samples for--score!) I'm excited to try these and hopefully the products will match me well, because I would be happy to work with this company again! A+++

I love the convenience of their shadow magnet primer and end up using it a lot but I think my shadows look just a tiny bit better with some of the other companies' products.
Their lipsticks are really nice, I especially like the matte and semi-matte formulas which are still creamy and smooth. There's a nice selection of colors (does seem to be mainly choice in the red/pink/brown/peach/plum tones rather than bold and bright and out-there) and I'd recommend them.
The cream eyeshadow I have from them just doesn't wear well on me though, not sure if there's a better way to apply but it just does not live up to the crease-resistance and no-budge advertisement. However, with that said, I have creasing issues with primers and eye shadows that other people do not and will see others reporting great wear times that I just don't seem to achieve.

Performance Colors (Etsy) Empty Re: Performance Colors (Etsy)

Placed an order a couple of weeks ago after hearing that her semi-matte lip products aren't nearly as drying as most and that she carried a NARS Train Bleu dupe (I adore that color, but the formula has always been unworkably patchy and dry for these).

Can't speak to the other formulas, but the semi-mattes are the least-drying matte formula I've run across. They hold surprisingly well, and they don't feather or bleed despite the softer formula and seriously intense pigmentation (especially on the dark, vampy shades). However, they're still a matte lipstick, and they are slightly drying over a number of hours, but not badly so. Touching up with chapstick helped. And Badlands and Vertigo did still snag in the crinkles of my lips and on different-textured patches of skin, even with exfoliation. Primer helped a lot.

Don't get me wrong: I have never even found a matte lipstick I could wear before. So I'm comparing to satin/emollient formulas here. Just don't want to promise a miracle product.

Found the chapstick tube easy to work with, and the vanilla scent light and pleasant. Overall, really impressed.

Lightning-fast TAT, and the value of the 3 for $10 lipsticks is slightly mind-boggling. Wish I had noticed that you get way more freebies if your order goes over $20 . . . would have given me an excellent excuse . . .

I LOVE Performance Colors! I purchased a sample pack some time back and was extremely happy with what I received. The Restorative Lip Colors are wonderfully pigmented and moisturizing and while I found the Matte lippies to be a little too drying for my lips (I have extremely dry lips), I adored the shades and pigmentation. The cream eye shadows are very lovely as well, and work well even without any primer. The turnaround time is amazingly quick and everything came packaged very nicely.

For more info, I did a detailed review here with swatches. But long story short, I would definitely recommend Performance Colors to everyone. Their products are awesome and really cost-effective as well.

I recently ordered from Performance Colors to find a better and less expensive primer to replace my Urban Decay Primer Potion. I also picked up some concealer samples to try.

Performance Colors does not disappoint! Shipping is very fast, packaging is excellent. Nothing leaked and I had no problems at all with my order. She's extremely generous with samples as well. Now, regarding the primer: it's very affordable and though it's a little dry/stiff while in the tube, it's easy to work with and shadows glide right over it. I have very oily lids, so I get creasing no matter what unless I use primer + Pixie Epoxy. Today I got 4-5 hours of wear before everything creased into oblivion (as it always does). This is not a fault of the product, it's just how my skin in.

Her lipstick colors are more work-safe than I personally prefer, but seeing as I'm not very into lipstick, this shouldn't matter much. She has a huge variety of products and her primer is very cost effective. I'm switching to it and finally tossing my UDPP that's separated and become watery.

I definitely recommend Performance Colors!

I really like this shop. I had ordered <$10, and she still threw in some samples for me (though the stated is $10 or more get samples). I ordered a concealer sample set, and she upgraded one to a full size because she was out of one of the colors in sample size and didn't want to hold up my order. I also ordered samples of oil-free cream foundations, and the sampler of 6 lipsticks, 3 restorative and 3 normal. In addition to the CS and TAT, I like the formulas as well. I don't think the undereye concealer has as much coverage as I need, but it is very smooth and creases a bit less than others. The foundation has a decent level of coverage. The restorative lip colors feel nice but don't have much staying power, which is to be expected. The other lip color stays alright so long as you don't eat or drink, in which case it comes off pretty fast, which is unfortunate as I really like the colors. ALSO she threw in a lip brush for me! What is this, she's awesome and I'm definitely getting more from there soon!
