Just wanted to give everyone a heads up just in case you were tempted to order. I picked up a full size bottle (tiny, btw) of The Cake is a Lie. There was some sketchy feedback on here, but I didn't check it before impulse buying.. The Etsy review I left pretty much says it all, so..
"I should have read shop reviews before impulse purchasing. I saw it was retired and fell in love with the name (Portal fan!), but not only am I severely disappointed with the scent, but the customer service as well. I ordered on 12/21/14 and received the shipping notice 12/29/14. It was stuck on "pre-shipment info sent" for a while, so on 1/6/15 I sent a note to the seller. She replied stating she would check on it, and on 1/8/15 I hadn't heard back so I sent another message. No reply, but shortly thereafter the tracking info updated with it being "picked up". Picked up?!? you didn't even have to leave your effing house to send this and you couldn't even do that??! I don't mind waiting, but don't lie. It got here today (1/10/15) and the scent smells like old ladies eating dusty chocolate in the basement. Never again."
So disappointed
Re: Delightful Rot
I ordered from Delightful Rot in late April 2014. The order shipped a few weeks later and then... nothing. The tracking never updated. I contacted the owner at the end of June, and she said it must have been lost by USPS, and promised to send out another package ASAP. Unfortunately, this didn't happen, and a week or two later I contacted her again, only to be told that her work room had flooded and she had to move. This seemed legit- proof photos were included, so I'm inclined to believe her- but a heads up would have been helpful.
The second package was eventually send and did arrive with extra free samples to make up for the wait, but I wasn't impressed with the quality of the scents in general. Most smelled synthetic and cheap, and the sample vials were extremely difficult to open.
