Re: Villianess Soaps
Suspect of using a very simple base then adding other materials to bulk the ingredients list due to the inability in answering a simple yes/no question.

The owner of Villainess is my friend. So I'm not unbiased here, but seriously, she does not use ANY bases. She creates everything from scratch, from recipes which she spent a long time creating many years ago.
People in our shoes get asked insanely detailed questions from those wanting to start copycat businesses. We get this all the time. I can't speak for Brooke without her permission, but I believe it's possible that catisfab might have (mistakenly) appeared to be one of these.
In that light, maybe it makes more sense that a business owner might feel, having already disclosed all ingredients in full transparency, that they don't want to disclose anything more.

I did not ask any detailed questions. What I have asked is directly screenshot from my email. All I wanted is a yes/no response directly from the owner not from a friend, customer, etc. The owner is the truly credible source.
For the owner to be so touchy about this made me concluded that she does start with a basic base. I have contacted other soap makers before and a simple yes/no is good enough for me.(they have all fulfilled that) I have never received such a lengthy and slightly rude response from an owner before. I do have one of her product which is why I'm curious whether it's from scratch or not. It is a quality product... but it doesn't "wow" me. This is why I ask this question which helps me narrow down the companies I'll continue supporting due to the increase in the number of independent soap makers.

Conceited and rude owner. Emailed about product/shipping issues and received responses that made read off as I am the fault of it. Will not lie that the product is decent but they're not special enough and generic in scent. If the owner was better at their service I would've continued supporting it. Other indie soap makers/perfume companies have better service/formulation and scent.
