Erzulie Cosmetics Customer Service Interaction

Post by daisyismydog on Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:34 am

On January 20th, I created a discussion post asking for experiences of different brands (http://redd.it/1vnixu) one of them being Erzulie Cosmetics. I was informed by two other users that at least one of their listing photos had come from Lime Crime. One user posted a review on some of their products, including their foundation. Another user commented regarding the lack of color-adjusting technology which their foundation claims to have. On February 18th, they responded via reddit on the discussion post I had created approximately a month ago.

The first (edited, I never saw an unedited one) reply that I saw was as follows:

Erzulie Cosmetics wrote:Hello. The lipstick pic has since been taken down and was given to me by my graphic artist. We are not in the practice of stealing or misleading anyone and apologize for the error. The eyeliner photos are from a photo shoot that included several products from Erzulie and other Etsy sellers. The magazine allowed us to use them and I'm not aware of any other use. Thank you for the positive feedback on the skin care. Regarding the cream to powder foundation, the formula has since been updated and very easy to apply, we also include a latex free makeup sponge rounds for a flawless application. I'm always available to answer any questions on the site. A word on our color adjusting mineral blend: It really does color adjust to your skin tone. No gimmicks or trickery involved, just a blend of proprietary minerals that creates a perfect match to your skin tone. You do have to choose a color close to your skin tone of course as med tan wouldn't work on light skin tones and visa versa. Thanks so much!

After I replied to them thanking them for responding and also commented how I find the idea of proprietary minerals creating a perfect match to your skin tone but having to choose a color close to your skin tone first they (5 minutes after) edited that aspect of their comment out to leave this:

I edited my own comment to note their edits. They did reply to acknowledge they had edited, but I personally find it off putting that they would edit a previous response and won't be purchasing from them.

Edit: Elaborating on my own personal views towards purchasing from them

Purchased a sample...

Post by Endrealis on Fri Aug 22, 2014 11:32 pm

I wanted to try out their foundations and well I ordered 2 samples from her Etsy site. I did not receive any information that it had been shipped. I thought more than enough time had passed so I checked my account and it had said it was delivered. I had not received a package. I have never gotten a package lost in the mail. Never this is my first one in the entire time I've purchased things online which is a lot.

I notified her that I had not received my purchase and she replied with the tracking number. That does me no good because it says it's arrived but obviously I didn't receive it. So I told her I see it was delivered but I still hadn't received it. She replies with talk to the people who have access to your mail which is just my husband and I. He would've told me I had gotten a package or I would've seen it lying around. At this point I'm just getting upset and I feel like she just thinks I'm stupid for not having my package. It was a total of $9.00. So far I've seen if a package has gone missing the owners have no problem sending out another one. I hear great things about indie customer service but with Erzulie it was like pulling teeth. So finally she agrees to send out another set only to reply with this time you should make sure someone is home. Well no freaking duh. I just find it kind of rude that needs to be said...

I finally get my package and because the website is so terrible the samples I received were way to dark. It was hard to navigate samples and figure out what colors were what. Needless to say I will never try them again.
